Anthony Weiner resigns amid Twitter Scandal, Pressure from Democrats.

In what was once a promising, young political career for a fire-ball hurling New Yorker, Anthony Weiner resigned today in Brooklyn. Crawling out from the ruins of his administration destroyed by a Twitter sexting scandal, he called a press conference to announce his resignation.

In a short statement that was riddled with hecklers and questions over sincerity, Weiner thanked his supporters, his staff, and his wife. He didn’t have the cavalier attitude that he did on the house floor or in the media, and he didn’t talk with the remorse of his speech just a few days ago. He was bitter and cited being too much of a distraction to continue. He then walked out of the room, without answering any questions.

It wasn’t suppose to be this way for Anthony Weiner, he was suppose to be the Mayor of New York. He was suppose to lead the charge against the Tea party in the northeast. He was suppose to go all the way and bring back glory days of the mid 90’s for his party.

Now he’s retired, where he’ll have to restore trust in his marriage, re-establish his professional life, and watch the Democrats pick up the check for his vices. All of this while, expecting a new addition to his family. The weight of the world collapsed on his shoulders, that was caused by a smart phone that weighs just a few ounces.

You can try to sympathize with the guy if you want, but his venom laced tirades directed at fellow lawmakers on the house floor, paralyzed forward progess in democracy. He was a “showtime” Congressman that was more about CNN, and MSNBC than NYC. Don’t agree? Look at the position he’s put his district in.

The 9th in New York will see better representation in the house, a lawmaker who will join the economic recovery efforts and grocery list of other problems facing America. He’ll do a better and, know better than his predecessor.

They deserve nothing less up there.
