Transcript:

Florida Politics with Frank Torres and today, we’re talking about the Orange County Commission District 3 race between Lui Damiani and Pete Clarke. You know, we know a lot of about Pete Clarke. He interviewed with the blog, I’ll post a link on this post. A grassroots guy, underfunded throughout the five way primary, and he got his way into this primary with Lui Damiani by knocking on doors, walking the district, he did it the old fashion way. He is still vastly underfunded in this contest with Lui Damiani, as far as Damiani is concerned, he was appointed to the county commission by then Independent Charlie Crist after Mildred Fernandez was removed, he’s never actually been elected. I think it gets confused a little bit by the way he’s framing his campaign, I think it’s important that voters know that, also the lack of grassroots presence with his campaign, he’s got a lot of power donors, a lot of powerful people donating to his campaign, not a lot of individual donations, once again it’s the way his campaign is coming across. Also, his lack of availability, I’ve been to a couple of district 3 forums, and haven’t seen him, he’s the only candidate not to interview with this blog, so what very little media is out there on this race, I don’t have much to go on. So, I think you have two very different campaigns, and I think availability and openess is very important, especially with all of the controversy we’ve seen from the commission this year. So, that’s just a snapshot of the Orange County Commission 3 race between Lui Damiani and Pete Clarke I’ll see you next time.
