Orlando Political Yearbook 2013 – State Senator Darren Soto

If you’re a local Democrat who keeps up with the political scene here in Central Florida, you’re familiar with Darren Soto. The former State Rep. won election to the State Senate last year and had the opportunity to open for the President. Is Soto emerging as a leader for Dems in Tally?

Florida Politics with Frank Torres. This is your 2013 Political Yearbook profile for State Senator Darren Soto. Soto making the transition from the Florida House to the Florida Senate being able to defeat a well funded opponent last year. Darren Soto, one of the more higher profile lawmakers here in Central Florida, a lot of TV, a lot of appearances. And as a Democrat in a Republican controlled Senate, that’s what 2013 will really be about for Darren Soto, moving to that smaller body of Government and trying to move forward with an agenda for the Democrats. He was one of the more visible ones out there last year. He was introducing President Obama during appearnances.

We’ll see what he can accomplish with that higher position. The Democrats the softer spoken of the two parties in Tallahassee. Is he going to make some noise? Work across the aisle?
